Tactile Tutoring's Approach and Services

At Tactile Tutoring, I create a customized action plan for each student based on their learning goals and needs. We will work together to craft time management plans and set goals that work specifically for you. This ensures that you get the most out of your tutoring sessions and make progress towards achieving your academic and career goals. I can also help with career planning and outreaching from my experience working on student resumes and helping them find internships.

I believe that a relaxed and comfortable learning environment is crucial to the success of our students. I designed my space at the Loading Dock Village with these goals in mind. I provide supplies, tactile tools, books, WiFi, my personalized note sheets, and educational posters to encourage learning and exploration. My patience and friendly deminer within this setting will make any student feel comfortable to ask questions and explore ideas.

I aim to teach students effective study strategies that help them retain information and apply it to their coursework. In our first session, we will outline the study cycle as presented in "Teach Students How to Learn" by Dr. Saundra Yancy McGuire, an educational expert with a background in chemistry. 

While obtaining my degrees, I utilized this cycle with some personalized tweaks, enabling me to become a successful student and teach others these strategies. I believe that learning how to learn is just as important as the subject matter itself, and this information must be captured in a personal framework to get the most out of the subject matter.
